On July 8th, on a sun and fun filled
day, the DI kicked off Stampede 2010 in true barn dance style. Music flooded the air. Hundreds of cowpoke and city slickers enjoyed a free pancake and sausage breakfast. And generous Calgarians participated in a “white hat” auction to support the This is My City Society (TMC). TMC provides Calgary’s marginalized communities with increased opportunities for creative expression, while engaging Calgarians in a dialogue about the issues around homelessness and poverty, and the role of arts and culture in our society.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Tip Your Hat auction and the First Flip Stampede Breakfast. The event was a resounding success, and an excellent way to kick off Stampede.
