21 Day Challenge

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead

On January 19th we challenged clients and staff to 21 days of positive change.

The idea was simple, complete 21 days of positive acts for both self and others. Complement 10 people and mean it, draw or write about you perfect day, or if there is a personal goal that someone wanted to focus on they could do that. The tasks were set to be achievable and obtainable. We started with 22 people and at the end we were down to 8, but the 8 that stuck it out showed tremendous personal growth and reflection.

People commented that the challenge was not always easy but just having the idea in mind changed the focus of their day. Participants had the following to say; ‘it makes you think about what you do during the day and what to say to people’ the challenge was about ‘finding the good side of people, rather than letting the bad side take over’, ‘I see the way I look at daily experiences and how I can turn situations into positive action and have a smile with it!’

Although we were small in numbers the changes shown in participants was great.

Just to be able to say one knows people who are perpetually kind hearted souls… just by you being the thoughtful, generous person you always are… I have a tear in my eye, but also now I have a huge smile on my face… one that just can’t be wiped off :)

I learned so much when I was involved with the challenge. Thanks to everyone that took part and to the staff that were involved.

Since taking the challenge, I have had many people approach me and tell me that they see a remarkable change. I’m smiling more and I am more open with people. Thsnks again everyone for all of your love and support.
