The DI - Riverfront BuildingThe DI provides both emergency and transitional shelter services to anyone in need ages 16 and up. Shelter services are provided free of charge and can be accessed 365 days a year. The DI has nightly shelter capacity for a total of 1370 clients.

A range of shelter options are available including:

DI Main Building – Riverfront

Emergency Beds

3rd floor Men's sleeping areaEmergency Beds are accessed on a first come first served basis daily beginning at 5:00p. Clients can be served on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Floors. The 1st Floor serves men and women who are intoxicated or under the influence. The 2nd Floor serves men who are intoxicated or under the influence. The 3rd Floor serves sober men and women.

Transitional Beds

4th floor sleeping areaTransitional Beds are available to both men and women who are actively engaged in a case management program with a goal of moving towards enhanced stability and ultimate independence. The DI’s transitional programs operate on both the 4th and 5th Floors. Both floors provide assigned beds in a shared setting, private storage, kitchen facilities and case worker supports. Clients wishing to make application for the transitional programs can do so through an Intake Counselor.

DI Satellite Locations

Centre 2507

The DI's satellite facility C2507 Centre 2507 provides satellite night shelter services to sober men. The satellite shelter offers both assigned and emergency beds. Nightly transportation is provided by bus from the Riverfront location. Clients wishing to access Centre 2507 can sign in through the Day Office located on the 2nd Floor beginning at 7:00p nightly.
